Job summary

FSA Federal is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant IV to support the United States Attorney's Office in federal forfeiture matters. The role involves reviewing investigations, preparing pleadings, coordinating discovery, and organizing exhibits in high-pressure environments.

Ideal candidates will have paralegal certification or degree, strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to work with restricted information. U.S. Citizenship and clearance requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent
• Paralegal Certificate or experience with automated litigation support tools
• Experience with legal research and analysis practices commonly used in federal cases
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Reviews investigative reports for probable cause and plans information gathering
• Prepares legal pleadings and motions for forfeiture proceedings
• Assists in pretrial preparations, discovery, and witness management
• Researches case law and prepares memoranda
• Compiles and indexes evidentiary exhibits for court proceedings
• Interacts with forfeiture attorney on merits and settlement considerations
• Provides training to other paralegals when needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
