Job summary

Centre Law & Consulting is seeking a Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant III to support the United States Attorney's Office in Charlotte, NC. You will assist attorneys with case material, discovery, and trial prep, leveraging legal research tools and databases.

Requires Paralegal Certificate or HS Diploma with paralegal experience, strong communication, and proficient MS Office skills. Citizenship and a background check are required.

Qualifications

Paralegal certificate or HS diploma with paralegal experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
Experience with MS Office and legal research tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists attorneys in reviewing case material and preparing digests, including legal references.
Receives, examines, and evaluates new cases with reference to facts and standards.
Assists in determining probable cause and planning an information-gathering approach.
Researches facts and laws using public records and databases; interviews agents and officers.
Prepares discovery materials, summaries, and witness coordination for pretrial work.
Assists in drafting pleadings, motions, and orders; manages files and exhibits.
