Job summary

Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) seeks a candidate to perform end-to-end ITGC testing across general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and cloud infrastructure. You will assess control deficiencies, conduct remediation follow-ups, and verify operating effectiveness.

This role requires strong accounting knowledge and DoD financial controls experience. Telework eligibility is available with a permanent, full-time federal appointment, and relocation reimbursement is provided.

Qualifications

• This DHA position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 24 accounting hours, or equivalent experience.
• Specialized experience evaluating enterprise financial accounting systems and automated controls.
• Experience in risk assessment of ITGCs and control deficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end testing of ITGCs affecting general ledger, payroll and disbursing.
• Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses of control deficiencies.
• Conduct follow-up evaluations to verify remediation and operating effectiveness.
• Inspect IT application controls and change management across major platforms.
