Job summary

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to support the VA Integrated Healthcare Transformation initiative. The primary responsibility is to obtain and analyze data through advanced models to inform strategic decisions and optimize government infrastructure projects.

You will design data collection tools, build Python/SQL data pipelines, and create visuals with Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik to present insights to stakeholders and guide program objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Health Informatics, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in healthcare or federal environment.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SAS; strong data visualization skills with Tableau/Power BI/Qlik.
• Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with VA systems and data repositories (CDW, VistA).

Responsibilities

• Design data collection tools and ensure data integrity, frequency, and confidence.
• Build data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Azure Data Factory.
• Identify actionable insights through advanced analytics and modeling.
• Create graphs, charts, and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Present analytical outcomes to guide business model adjustments and planning.
• Collect, clean, and validate large VA datasets from multiple sources.
• Translate raw data into reports supporting healthcare transformation goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with program objectives.
• Support predictive modeling and trend analysis to improve veteran healthcare delivery.
