Job description

What You Will Do

As a member of Guidehouse Federal Health Advisory, you will support public health clients with evidence-based strategy, program planning, communications, evaluation, and epidemiologic analysis. Working across multiple workstreams, you will help clients move from strategy through execution by applying analytical problem solving, developing reports and presentations, and participating in client operational meetings. This consultant-level role combines a foundation in epidemiology with the breadth of public health consulting. We are seeking a self‑motivated, outcomes‑oriented professional who is eager to learn and grow. You will independently complete assigned work with guidance and feedback, collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues, and contribute to practical solutions that advance client objectives. Success requires curiosity, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to high‑quality work and inclusive teamwork.

  • Support public health consulting engagements across the project lifecycle, from problem definition and planning through implementation, evaluation, and delivery.

  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data through literature, document, and dataset reviews, interviews, surveys, and focus groups.

  • Help develop evaluation plans, logic models, indicators, and performance measures; summarize findings and identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Contribute to strategic and program plans, work plans, and milestones; track progress, risks, and action items.

  • Translate technical and scientific findings into clear briefs, reports, presentations, and communications for technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Prepare accurate tables, figures, data visualizations, and dashboards that communicate findings and support decision‑making.

  • Support standard operating procedures, reproducible analytic documentation, and quality assurance checks to promote consistent, reliable work.

  • Prepare for and participate in client operational and stakeholder meetings, document decisions and next steps, and build productive working relationships.

  • Collaborate inclusively across disciplines and workstreams, applying firm methods and incorporating feedback to improve deliverables.

  • Contribute to internal communities of practice, knowledge sharing, and proposal development as opportunities arise.

What You Will Need

Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health with a concentration or coursework in epidemiology, or a closely related field with relevant epidemiologic or quantitative training.

ONE (1) or more years of relevant experience in public health, epidemiology, research, evaluation, or consulting. Academic research, internships, and practicum experience count toward this experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal NACI; Candidates with an active NACI or suitability are preferred.

Foundational knowledge of epidemiology, study design, and biostatistics, with the ability to interpret population health data and recognize limitations.

Experience using at least one statistical programming or analysis tool, such as SAS, R, or Python, through coursework, research, internships, or professional work.

Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical problem‑solving skills and clear written and verbal communication, with attention to accuracy and detail.
