Job summary

Lafaytte Group is seeking a highly skilled GIS Consultant to lead impactful projects for federal clients, delivering advanced geospatial analysis, data automation, and decision-support tools. The role interfaces with data analytics and dashboards to visualize results and support strategic planning.

Responsibilities include leading complex GIS projects, automating data workflows with Python, and developing dashboards in ArcGIS Online.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Data Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in GIS, as an analyst or developer.
Expertise using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and spatial analyst tools for geospatial modeling and analysis.
Proficient in Python scripting (ArcPy, GeoPandas) to automate spatial and non-spatial data processes.
Ability to explain complex geospatial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with crowdsourced data.
Experience and strategy for data management.
Eligible for Department of Commerce public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead GIS and data-driven projects by gathering client requirements and translating them into workflows, data products, and decision tools.
Perform advanced spatial analysis and modeling using ArcGIS Pro, including weighted overlays, suitability modeling, spatial joins, and raster analysis.
Automate geospatial and tabular data processing using Python to streamline workflows.
Design and develop interactive dashboards and analytics within ArcGIS Online to visualize geospatial patterns, KPIs, and funding impacts.
Collaborate with clients to align solutions with program goals, policy objectives, and investment priorities.
Integrate multiple data sources (SQL databases, flat files, external APIs, CRM systems) to develop robust data pipelines.
Support data integrity, governance, and quality assurance for internal and external datasets.
Maintain and document metadata, processing logic, and data dictionary for reproducibility.
Present findings to diverse audiences including federal stakeholders and leadership.
