Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Federal Financial Management Consultant to manage workstreams and contribute to financial reporting deliverables, balancing technical quality with client-facing execution in federal environments. You will support preparation and analysis of federal statements, assess processes, apply U.S.

FFM concepts, coordinate with stakeholders, and mentor analysts while contributing to proposals and capability building.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit readiness, or related field.
  • Experience supporting federal agencies or public-sector environments.
  • Knowledge of federal financial reporting and budget concepts, internal controls, and year-end close.

  • Manage workstreams and contribute to financial reporting deliverables with emphasis on technical quality and client-facing execution.
  • Support preparation, review, and analysis of federal financial statements, notes, reconciliations, and management reporting packages.
  • Assess reporting processes, identify control gaps, and recommend improvements for audit readiness and compliance.
  • Apply concepts including U.S. Standard General Ledger, Treasury reporting, and OMB guidance.
  • Coordinate with client stakeholders to resolve data issues and document decisions.
  • Develop workpapers, issue logs, and executive-ready materials to explain findings and actions.
  • Coach analysts on tasks, quality expectations, and client communication norms.
  • Support proposals, account planning, and capability-building for federal financial management.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum Five(5) years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit readiness, financial management consulting, or a closely related field.
  • Experience supporting federal agencies, government contractors, or public-sector financial management environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal financial reporting and federal budgetary reporting concepts, reconciliations, internal controls, and year-end close activities.
  • Prior consulting experience with federal CFO organizations, financial statement audit support, Treasury reporting, GTAS, DATA Act, or OMB A-136 reporting activities.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and translate technical findings into concise client-facing recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; experience using financial systems or business intelligence tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to meet federal client suitability, access, or clearance requirements where applicable.
  • Must be US Citizen and must be able to obtain obtain MBI clearance.
What Would Be Nice To Have
  • CPA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, or similar professional certification.
  • Experience supervising junior team members and coordinating deliverables across cross-functional teams.
