Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a dependable custodian to maintain cleanliness in assigned facility areas and operate cleaning equipment, including scrubbers and buffers. The role requires following written and verbal instructions and lifting up to 40 pounds.

The position also involves spot cleaning, trash handling, and reporting equipment issues to supervision. Prior custodial experience and completion of GGW’s NISH custodial training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to decipher/comprehend signs indicating danger.
• Skilled in cleaning methods and equipment (scrubber, extractor).
• Must be able to obtain security clearance to work at the site.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness in assigned facility areas.
• Performs cleaning tasks: dusting, floor care, vacuuming, trash and ashtray maintenance, wall/window spot cleaning, and high-speed burnishing.
• Cleans and maintains assigned equipment.
