Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington invites applications for a Male Restroom Cleaner/Attendant. Shift runs 9am to 1pm, Monday through Friday, at Senate Office Buildings. The role involves cleaning/restocking restrooms, adhering to GGW safety policies, and maintaining a positive, courteous presence with the public.

Qualifications

• Six months previous cleaning or related experience.
• Ability to obtain security clearance to work at assigned work site.

Responsibilities

• Cleans each restroom fixture in accordance with GGW policies and procedures.
• Dusts all restroom surfaces including lights, ledges, walls, vents, partitions etc.
• Gather and empty all trash containers in the restrooms (to include sanitary napkins container).
• Ability to identify proper supplies and cleaning materials that match to each surface to be cleaned.
• Clean restroom floors by sweeping, mopping, spot cleaning and/or scrubbing.
• Washing and sanitizing walls and other hard surfaces (to include child changing stations).
• Ensure restrooms are stocked with all supplies (paper, soap and other supplies).
• Follows all GGW safety and sanitation policies and procedures while on premises and demonstrates understanding of procedures to avoid cross contamination and proper cleaning technique.
• Communicates potential hazards, need for supplies, need for repair of broken equipment or policy violations.
• Ability to interact/project with public in a positive and courteous manner.
• Ability to navigate through complicated floor layouts to move from point to point in a crowded setting.
• Cleans and maintains assigned equipment.
• Back up general cleaners as needed.
