Job summary

Tria Federal leads architectural efforts across VAASM to integrate Appian, Palantir, and VA legacy systems into a secure, scalable platform. The Enterprise Architect defines APIs, data models, and data fabric strategies while ensuring alignment with VA EA standards and RMF/FISMA controls.

The role requires 10+ years in enterprise IT architecture within federal programs, with TOGAF/DoDAF familiarity and FedRAMP cloud experience. Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in enterprise IT architecture for large federal programs.
  • Experience designing enterprise integration with multiple COTS, legacy, and cloud.
  • Deep knowledge of API design, microservices, data fabrics and event-driven integration.
  • Experience with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments (IL2/IL4) and VA/OIT processes.
  • Strong architecture modeling (TOGAF, DoDAF, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with NIST RMF, FISMA, and VA Handbook 6500.
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred.
  • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the authoritative technical architecture baseline for the VAASM program.
  • Lead architecture design sessions with Appian, Palantir, and VA teams to define API contracts and data models.
  • Design and oversee data fabric strategy for interoperability between Appian, Palantir, and VA legacy systems.
  • Define program technical standards, patterns, and reference architectures across all workstreams.
  • Review and approve technical designs for architectural compliance.
  • Coordinate with VA OIT EA to align with standards and roadmaps.
  • Lead ATO support activities including architecture docs and security reviews.
  • Evaluate options with cost‑benefit and risk analyses for emerging requirements.
  • Provide mentorship on architectural principles across all workstreams.
