Who We Are

Tria Federal delivers digital services and technology solutions that support the health and safety of veterans, service members and civilians. For two decades federal agencies have relied on Tria companies to advance their critical missions and modernize their systems, so that they can uphold their commitment to the American people. Today, we are pushing the boundaries of possibility through partnerships and investments in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, developing solutions for the biggest challenges that government will face tomorrow.

We are proud to employ and support military veterans who bring mission‑first mindset, technical expertise, and leadership qualities that strengthen our work. Veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses are strongly encouraged to apply.

Enterprise Architect Role

The Enterprise Architect leads the end‑to‑end technical architecture strategy for the program, establishing the blueprint for how Appian, Palantir, VA legacy systems, and supporting infrastructure integrate into a unified, scalable, and secure acquisition modernization platform.

This role requires deep expertise in enterprise integration patterns, API‑first design, data fabric architectures, and federal security frameworks (RMF, FedRAMP). The Enterprise Architect collaborates closely with platform partners, VA OIT, and delivery workstream leads to translate business requirements into authoritative architectural decisions that govern the program’s technical direction.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT architecture, with at least 5 years supporting large federal government programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing enterprise integration architectures involving multiple COTS platforms, legacy systems, and cloud environments.
  • Deep knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, data fabric concepts, and event‑driven integration patterns.
  • Experience with FedRAMP‑authorized cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP at IL2/IL4) and VA or federal OIT architecture review processes.
  • Strong proficiency in architecture modeling frameworks (TOGAF, DoDAF, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with federal security and compliance frameworks including NIST RMF, FISMA, and VA Handbook 6500.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field required; Master’s preferred.
  • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification preferred.
Qualifications
  • Direct experience with Appian platform architecture, including data fabric, process automation, and integrations in federal environments.
  • Familiarity with Palantir Foundry or similar data orchestration platforms and their integration into enterprise architectures.
  • Prior experience designing VA or federal financial management system interfaces (e.g., OLCS, UFMS, IPPS).
  • Experience supporting ATO documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Data Flow Diagrams, and network architecture diagrams.
  • Knowledge of VA enterprise architecture standards and OCIO governance frameworks.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain the authoritative technical architecture baseline for the VAASM program, including integration, data, application, and security architecture views.
  • Lead architecture design sessions with Appian, Palantir, and VA technical teams to establish API contracts, data models, and integration patterns.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of the data fabric strategy, ensuring seamless interoperability between Appian contract writing, Palantir analytics, VA legacy financial systems, and supporting platforms.
  • Define the program’s technical standards, patterns, and reference architectures, ensuring consistent application across all workstreams.
  • Review and approve technical designs produced by developers, integration engineers, data engineers, and DevSecOps engineers for architectural compliance.
  • Coordinate with VA OIT Enterprise Architecture team to ensure solution designs align with VA EA standards, technology standards, and the VA Technology Roadmap.
  • Lead ATO support activities including architecture documentation, network diagrams, data flow diagrams, and security architecture reviews.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology options for emerging requirements, providing cost‑benefit analysis and risk assessments.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Architect for Appian and Palantir platform‑specific architecture decisions.
  • Provide architectural guidance on performance optimization, scalability planning, and disaster recovery design.
  • Mentor technical staff across all workstreams on architectural principles and best practices.
