Job summary

IBM Federal is seeking a Co‑Op in University Park to work on data engineering for government clients, delivering secure, mission‑critical solutions while gaining real client exposure.

As an IBMer-in-training, you'll learn Python-based data pipelines, ETL workflows, and cloud platforms, with mentorship and a pathway into the Associate Program.

This hybrid internship runs May 2027 through May 2028, with flexibility for hours during school and breaks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a quantitative degree in CS, statistics, math, engineering, IST, or related field.
• Demonstrate initiative and growth mindset; manage dynamic workloads in an agile environment.
• Work in‑office in University Park, PA during the academic year; up to 20 hours/week during semesters.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on client projects to build data-driven insights for government clients.
• Develop data pipelines and model data with Python; gain exposure to ETL tools and cloud platforms.
• Communicate analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Gain experience in data integration, cleansing, and reporting as part of the co‑op.
