Job summary

LMI Government Consulting in Tysons, VA, is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design secure system architectures that achieve federal authorization like FedRAMP and RMF, translating complex regulations into practical patterns.

You will bridge security, DevSecOps, and GRC teams, guide documentation and risk assessments, and lead or support authorization activities for DoD cloud environments and CUI handling.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of federal cybersecurity experience.
  • Experience with NIST SP 800-53/171/172 and RMF.
  • Experience supporting FedRAMP/DoD RMF/CMMC authorization.
  • Translate compliance frameworks into technical guidance for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Architect systems to support authorization under FedRAMP, DoD RMF, CMMC, and related federal frameworks.
  • Translate requirements from NIST SP 800-53/171/172 into concrete architecture patterns.
  • Define secure reference architectures across identity, network segmentation, and data protection.
  • Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and operational workflows.
  • Lead or participate in GRC program activities and authorization readiness.
  • Provide DoD Cloud Computing and NSS guidance and ensure CUI handling as required.
