Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a cost estimator for federal projects in the United States. You will develop detailed cost estimates using MII (MCACES II), PACES, RSMeans, and Success Estimator, and review contractor proposals for compliance with FAR, DFARS, and Davis-Bacon.

You will interpret drawings and specs, build cost models, and collaborate with project managers and contract officers to align scope and budgets. Travel may be required; a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of relevant estimating experience preferred.
• Experience with federal estimating processes and FAR/DFARS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, discipline-specific cost estimates using MII (MCACES II), PACES, RSMeans, and Success Estimator.
• Analyze contractor proposals for accuracy, compliance with FAR/DFARS, and Davis-Bacon.
• Develop cost models and pricing databases; maintain historical data.
• Collaborate with PMs, COS, engineers, and contracting officers to align scope and budget.
• Support value engineering and prepare justification documentation for government review.
