Job summary

Procon Consulting seeks a Construction Field Manager for Federal Sector projects in the Loop, Chicago. The role oversees on-site construction, coordinates with stakeholders, and ensures safety, quality, and compliance while managing schedules and budgets.

Night work and varied hours are expected. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years in on-site management within public or federal environments and experience with MEP upgrades, renovations, and exterior cladding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Planning, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of on-site construction management experience with renovations, MEP/HVAC upgrades, fit-outs, and window or lighting replacement projects.
• Experience working in occupied, operational buildings and complex environments such as public agencies, hospitals, universities, or government facilities.
• Strong field experience, including urban mid-rise buildings and exterior cladding work preferred.
• Proven ability to manage client communication, project logistics, budgets, schedules, and change proposals.

Responsibilities

• Work in a collaborative team environment under the Senior Project Manager leading construction field management and owner’s representative services across renovation and MEP upgrade projects.
• Manage on-site construction activities including, reporting, documenting construction activities, commissioning, and quality assurance.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and government stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Review project schedules, budgets, construction documents, and contractor submittals for compliance and accuracy.
• Monitor field operations for adherence to drawings, safety standards, security requirements, and building codes.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including meeting minutes, field reports, and status updates.
• Track project progress, identify issues, and communicate solutions effectively to project teams and clients.
• Support cost management efforts including estimating, cost verification, and change order negotiations.
