Job summary

Onsite Construction Group LLC in Kansas City, MO seeks a Federal Construction Assistant Project Manager to assist the Project Manager across pre-construction through closeout on federal projects. You will coordinate schedules, budgets, documentation, and compliance per FAR/DFARS while supporting field teams and subcontractors.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in federal construction coordination, familiarity with Procore, MS Project, and Bluebeam, and the ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in construction project coordination or management (federal project experience preferred).
• Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and other federal construction regulations.
• Proficiency in Procore, MS Project and Bluebeam.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance, if required.
• Background check and 9-panel drug screen are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and managing project execution.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to ensure compliance with specifications and project timelines.
• Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes.
• Support cost control, budgeting, and procurement processes.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting per FAR/DFARS and client requirements.
• Participate in quality control, safety compliance, and site inspections.
• Communicate regularly with federal clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Assist with project closeout procedures, including punch lists, as-builts, and warranties.
• Some travel may be required
