Washington, DC-based Neros Technologies seeks a Federal Communications Manager to lead relationships with defense-focused think tanks and journalists, shaping government messaging and policy engagement.

You will work with Marketing to craft campaigns, white papers, and events aimed at Congress, the Pentagon, and the Executive Branch, translating technical concepts into accessible narratives.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in federal communications within Congress, executive branch, or defense related journalism.
• Understanding of the U.S. defense ecosystem, including DoD procurement, congressional appropriations, and national security policy.
• Strong existing relationships with think-tanks and national level journalists.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical issues into compelling narratives.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
• Experience building brand messaging for government audiences.

What you will be doing

The Federal Communications Manager will lead efforts to build relationships with defense related think tanks and journalists who influence how Congress, the Pentagon, and the Executive Branch view programs related to Neros’s suite of capabilities. This position will partner with the Marketing Team to build the Neros brand through messaging campaigns, social events, and white papers tailored for government audiences.

You should have the following

• 6+ years of experience in federal communications within Congress, executive branch, or defense related journalism
• Understanding of the U.S. defense ecosystem, including DoD procurement, congressional appropriations, and national security policy
• Strong existing relationships with think-tanks and national level journalists
• Proven ability to translate complex technical issues into compelling narratives
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills

Nice to have

• Experience in a private sector company
• Legislative and Executive Branch experience (preferably DoD)
• Photography and videography skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

US Salary Range

$110,500 – $154,500 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.
