Job summary

The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California is seeking experienced attorneys to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) in the Civil Division.

Working in the Civil Division, you will be part of a dedicated team representing the United States and federal agencies in a variety of cases, including employment, tort, constitutional and civil rights, FOIA, Administrative Procedure Act, False Claims Act, and financial litigation cases.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar membership in good standing.
• At least three years of licensed attorney experience in federal/state/local litigation or related judicial clerkships.
• United States citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise civil litigation as lead counsel for the United States.
• Represent federal agencies in diverse civil cases including employment, tort, constitutional rights, FOIA and FCA matters.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues and craft persuasive pleadings and motions.
