Qualifications

• 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree; federal background investigations preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; T5 adjudication preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Daily travel locally and outside the primary area may be required.
• Home office is required; TDYs or remote travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete a full-time 6–7 week training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel daily to conduct in-person background investigations to assess employment suitability for access to sensitive information.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects and associates in the designated area.
• Perform record searches at police, courts, educational, financial, and health institutions.
• Type and report information clearly in a government-issued system.
• Work independently within a team of investigators and with a field manager.
