Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) seeks Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial aviation from terrorism and other criminal threats. Marshals operate both in the air and on the ground, requiring discretion, sound judgment, physical readiness, and firearms proficiency.

Positions involve irregular schedules and frequent travel. Applicants must meet basic eligibility, education/experience requirements, and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience with problem-solving, planning, organization, and communication.
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or a qualifying combination of education and experience.
• Education transcripts may be required depending on the vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup.
