Job summary

Transportation Security Administration is recruiting Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights against terrorism and other threats. The role requires readiness to work irregular schedules, travel, and to carry firearms while operating on domestic and international flights.

Selected candidates must meet stringent eligibility and training requirements, undergo extensive background checks, and maintain top-secret clearances.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving, planning, and communication.
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; transcripts may be required.
• Qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain firearms proficiency.
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and advisory activities.
• Coordinate with multi-agency partners during operations.
• Support security missions and counter-threat activities.
