Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial aviation from terrorism and other threats. This role involves working on aircraft and at airports, carrying firearms, and operating under high-pressure conditions.

Positions require passing background checks, training, and occasional travel. Selected candidates must meet eligibility requirements and be prepared for irregular schedules and long assignments.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other criminal threats
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup
• Carry a firearm and maintain firearms proficiency
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities
• Identify and interview witnesses or suspects
• Make arrests and seek/execute warrants within authority
• Participate in multi-agency operations with federal, state, and local partners
• Support ground-based transportation-security and counterterrorism missions
• Perform other specialized assignments including Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems operations
