Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a journalist to receive assignments, generate story ideas, and conduct sources interviews both in person and by phone. You will gather facts, verify information, and write with editorial style, while proofreading and supporting copy editors across sections.

You will review performances and recordings, helping to shape content for special sections and cover design, while keeping information confidential and maintaining FOIA knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in arts and entertainment writing.
• Excellent communication skills, including interview and note-taking abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Computer skills in word processing and content management systems.
• Knowledge of Freedom of Information Act and libel laws.
• Ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations and maintain confidentiality.
