Bank of America is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Merchant Business Software Suite team within Enterprise Payments Technology. You will design and deliver mobile Android solutions, collaborate on RESTful services, and guide the team through CI/CD practices in production‑level environments.

The role emphasizes strong architecture, product backlog collaboration, and mentorship of engineers to maintain high quality and reduce technical debt.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience coding solutions and unit testing to deliver a story per acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• 5+ years experience designing/developing/modifying architecture components and solution enablers while maintaining architecture integrity.
• Proven experience with Java and Kotlin Android applications in production‑level environments.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and JSON.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile development methodologies.
• Experience mentoring other Software Engineers and coaching team on CI/CD practices.

Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join Enterprise Payments Technology (EPT) and be part of a dynamic and fun team with amazing leadership. EPT is a global payments team which provides a wide range of financial platforms and services. EPT is made of core payment business technology functions including Merchant Solutions, Card Issuing, Digital Wallets, Transfers, Liability Payments and Settlement. EPT facilitates the movement of roughly $693 trillion through the processing of approximately 18.8 billion transactions a year to more than 66 million consumer/small business relationships and 2 million wealth management clients. The Merchant Business Software Suite (MBSS) team is responsible for the delivery of a large-scale, multi-year program to provide a scalable and customizable point-of-sale software across a broader set of industry verticals. The initiative arises from a recent strategic acquisition to broaden the Bank’s Merchant Services capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years experience coding solutions and unit testing to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• 5+ years experience Designing/developing/modifying architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained.
• Proven experience with Java and Kotlin Android Application in production‑level applications.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, and JSON
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile development methodologies.
• Experience mentoring other Software Engineers and coach team on CI CD practices and automating tool stack.
