Qualifications

• Experience creating finite element models and interpreting results.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design for strength and fatigue.
• Ability to document assumptions, models, and results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Create and use Finite Element Analysis models either individually or with supplier firms.
• Experience with HyperMesh and Abaqus software in HM (Heavy Machinery).
• Log quality issues and arrange corrections to models.
• Perform model setup and submit jobs to high-performance computing clusters.
• Run simulations of static, modal, and dynamic analyses.
• Develop understanding of design mechanical capacity for strength and fatigue.
• Author reports containing assumptions, models and results.
• Draw conclusions and make recommendations to design, simulation, and validation partners.
• Contribute to and participate in peer reviews.
• Contribute to improvements in simulation methods and processes.
