Job summary

Providence Engineering is seeking a Design Engineer I, Structural to perform routine engineering tasks under supervision on diverse projects. You will develop calculations, assist with minor designs, and coordinate with project managers and teams to meet timelines.

Ideal candidates hold a structural engineering degree, have FE exam progress, and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. This role offers growth opportunities and exposure to licensure processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or related field required.
• FE exam completed or in progress.
• 0–2 years of related internship/entry-level experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with structural analysis software (Risa 3D, RAM, Tedds) and hand calculations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide reliable, constructable, affordable, and timely RCAT solutions.
• Perform routine design tasks and meet budgeted hours.
• Prepare engineering calculations and minor designs.
• Work on multiple projects for project managers and other branches.
• Document project experience for licensure.
• Assist in proposal hour estimates.
• Develop communications with internal clients.
• Attend design, construction meetings and site visits.
• Adhere to company policies and participate in webinars and networking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
