Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Micron Technology is seeking a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) to provide technical leadership for thin-film deposition capability across Micron's global manufacturing network. In this role, you will define technical strategy, drive manufacturing innovation, and accelerate improvements in yield, defectivity, equipment productivity, cost efficiency, and process capability across DRAM and NAND technologies. Working closely alongside Technology Development, Process Integration, Manufacturing, Facilities, Business Planning, Factory Automation, and equipment suppliers, you will transform complex technical challenges into scalable solutions that strengthen manufacturing performance and enable future technology roadmaps.

Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the global technical strategy for thin-film deposition processes, including CVD, ALD, PVD, epitaxy, and emerging deposition technologies.
  • Identify performance gaps across Micron's manufacturing network and lead initiatives that improve yield, defectivity, process capability, equipment productivity, cycle time, and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with Technology Development, Process Integration, and manufacturing sites to develop, qualify, and scale new process and equipment solutions for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Influence deposition equipment and hardware roadmaps with suppliers to improve manufacturing capability, productivity, reliability, and cost of ownership.
  • Lead high-impact technical programs from concept through implementation, ensuring measurable business results and successful adoption across global sites.
  • Develop and promote guidelines, governance processes, and knowledge-sharing frameworks that enable consistent performance across the global manufacturing network.
  • Offer technical direction, mentorship, and guidance to senior engineers and technical leaders while strengthening organizational capability.
  • Advance data analytics, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and continuous improvement practices to accelerate learning, improve decision‑making, and enhance manufacturing performance.
Required Qualifications
  • PhD with 15+ years, or Master's degree with 17+ years, of experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Deep expertise in thin-film deposition processes, including deposition fundamentals, film-property control, process integration, and advanced manufacturing applications.
  • Demonstrated success developing, transferring, and optimizing deposition technologies in semiconductor research, development, and high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction across organizations, lead complex multi-functional initiatives, and communicate effectively with senior technical and business leaders.
  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, data-driven problem solving, process qualification, and manufacturing performance improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Broad experience across multiple deposition technologies, including CVD, ALD, PVD, and epitaxy.
  • Recognized industry leadership demonstrated through patents, publications, invited presentations, technical committee participation, or other professional contributions.
  • Experience influencing equipment supplier roadmaps, conducting technical evaluations, and driving strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Experience applying advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI-enabled solutions to semiconductor manufacturing challenges.
  • Demonstrated success improving node cost, space efficiency, equipment productivity, and manufacturing scalability in advanced semiconductor technologies.
