Job summary

Tallahassee State College is seeking qualified FDOT instructors to teach a range of traffic enforcement and inspection courses at the Florida Public Safety Institute. Candidates should hold FDLE General Instructor Certification and ideally Speed Measurement or Breath Test Instructor credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current FDLE General Instructor Certification, Speed Measurement Instructor, or Breath Test Instructor Certifications.
• Knowledge of Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training rules and regulations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
• Sound judgement, problem solving, and positive motivational skills.
• FDLE Instructor Exemptions may be made on a case by case basis if you qualify.

Responsibilities

• Teach FDOT Tuition Free Courses such as Basic Traffic Homicide Investigation, Advanced Traffic Homicide Investigation, and related modules.
• Deliver engaging instruction and assess student performance.
• Maintain compliance with FDLE and institute policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Florida Public Safety Institute to ensure program quality.

The Florida Public Safety Institute is looking for Law Enforcement Traffic Oriented Instructors to teach any of the following FDOT Tuition Free Courses:

• Basic Traffic Homicide Investigation

• Advanced Traffic Homicide Investigation

• Traffic Homicide Reconstruction

• Crash Scene Mapping with Speed Lasers

• Speed Measurement Course

• Speed Measurement Instructor Course

• Breath Test Operator Instructor

• Agency Inspector Instructor

Potential Instructors should be comfortable teaching the Traffic Homicide, Speed Measurement Courses, Breath Test Operator, and Agency InspectorCourses.
