Job summary

Conti LLC in Florida is seeking a Roadway ITS Field Maintenance Technician to support FDOT projects. You will install, program, integrate and maintain ITS components across diverse traffic environments.

This full-time position requires a valid driver's license, willingness to work outdoors year-round, and the ability to operate aerial equipment safely. You will troubleshoot hardware and software, document diagnostics, and assist with inventory and reports using Office and vendor software.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License; CDL preferred and company-sponsored CDL available.
• Willingness to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to inspect and operate aerial equipment safely.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical skills.
• Experience with ITS or traffic signal systems preferred.
• Field-based role with hands-on technical responsibilities.
• Union-supported position with full benefits.
• Field presence required; hybrid scheduling not applicable.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain ITS components across traffic infrastructure.
• Operate ITS assets including DMS, WWVD, edge systems, and adaptive signals.
• Troubleshoot wiring, hardware, and software issues.
• Perform underground cable locating and inventory of ITS components.
• Adjust, repair, replace, and modify electrical components as needed.
• Operate bucket trucks and manlifts for field access.
• Use Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturer-specific software for diagnostics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain ITS components including:
• Dynamic Message Signs (DMS)
• Vehicle Detection & Wrong Way Vehicle Detection (WWVD) Systems
• Edge-Computing Technology
• Emergency Vehicle Preemption & Transit Signal Priority
• Adaptive Traffic Signal Control
• Ramp Metering Systems
• Communications Networks
• UPS Devices
• Perform underground cable locating and inventory of ITS components
• Troubleshoot wiring, hardware, and software issues
• Adjust, repair, replace, and modify electrical components
• Operate aerial equipment such as bucket trucks and manlifts
