This is a full-time, Career Service position at Hamilton Correctional Institution in the Maintenance Department.

Salary: $35,900.54 annually

PRIMARY DUTIES:

This position involves general maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, cabinetry/carpentry, masonry, welding, drywall, roofing, and related systems at a major institution. It also includes providing on-the-job training to inmate workers in relevant trades.

The incumbent's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing maintenance and repairs across various trades
  • Supervising and training inmate workers
  • Following all safety, security, and code requirements
  • Performing maintenance and construction tasks as directed
  • Planning and organizing work, requisitioning supplies, and ensuring timely completion

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in plumbing, carpentry, welding, drywall, roofing, or food service equipment repair, OR four or more years of general maintenance experience (college or vocational training in these trades can substitute)
  • A valid Class E Driver’s License
