Role

Support the EHS department with effective supervision to ensure a safe working environment. Comply with all company safety, quality and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm complete and accurate associate training (8-day OJT, Initial Evaluation, Annual Evaluations, Performance Reviews)
  • Confirm appropriate assignment of duties for department associates and follow up on activities for completion and accuracy.
  • Promote and confirm your department’s cleanliness and organization daily. Confirm implemented improvements using the 5C principle (Clean, clear, create, commit, continue).
  • Ensure that all associates are following FCC (Adams) safety requirements at all times.
  • Knowledge of company policies and practices dealing with associate relations (free of discrimination, harassment, violence, drugs, and alcohol).
  • Effectively communicate with management, direct supervisor and associates.
  • Attend meetings as needed to assist with department continuous improvements and corrective actions.
  • Confirm accurate reporting for accidents/incidents. Assign staff needed to investigate and assist with investigation and closure of accident/incident. Confirm corrective actions are developed and implemented for all safety concerns (SCARs) on time and address the actual root cause of the issue.
  • Confirm monthly safety and environmental committee meeting is scheduled, conducted and completed as required.
  • Confirm schedules for all department audits are conducted and completed as required.
  • Assist with the development of programs that will aid in the continual improvement of environmental, health and safety activities.
  • Assist with developing the annual business plan outlining the department’s objectives. Confirm that improvement activities are scheduled, conducted and completed as required.
  • Assist with maintaining the department’s annual budget.
  • Confirm that requisitions are created for department purchases to go through the approval process. Assist as needed.
  • Confirm documents outline proper methods for all department procedures (controlled and internal).
  • Confirm overtime plan.
  • Identify and implement cost reductions within the department and plant wide.
  • Promote and ensure conformance to the company’s ISO 14001 procedures (recycling, reducing waste).
  • Promote and ensure conformance to the company’s IATF 16949 procedures (work standards, check sheets, regulations, quality manual).
  • Additional projects assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED – required.
  • Degree in EHS/Safety/Business Management /related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Manufacturing environment
  • Trouble shooting/root cause analysis
  • Computer knowledge

Environmental/Working Conditions

  • Essential functions of this job require the associate to regularly: sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, carry and lift.
