Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a FCAW Welding Instructor / Trainer for 1st shift in South Milwaukee, WI. The role combines welding expertise with people development to build skilled welders and improve training effectiveness.

You will deliver hands-on training, assess skills, and work with operations leadership to align training with production needs. Relocation assistance is available; sponsorship is not offered. Compensation ranges from $81,370 to $122,060 with benefits effective Day One.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or developing welders in industrial/educational settings.
• Hands-on FCAW training experience.
• Experience teaching FCAW in school, apprenticeship, union, military, or manufacturing.
• Possession of CWE or similar credentials.
• Experience creating training materials or lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on training for new hires and current employees on production welding.
• Assess welding skill levels, identify gaps, and develop targeted training plans.
• Evaluate weld quality and defects and coach for improvement.
• Collaborate with lead welders, supervisors, and cross-functional partners.
• Support continuous improvement by refining training programs and methods.
• Track training progress and maintain accurate records for operations.
• Contribute to a safe, efficient shop environment through training best practices.
