  • Pay or shift range: $160,000 USD to $200,000 USD Flagg Bicycle Group (Quality Bicycle Products, Workstand, Wheel Mfg and Terry Precision Cycling) approaches pay in an ethical and transparent way. Organization Overview

FBG Services, LLC (FBGS) is a shared services company owned by Flagg Bicycle Group, LLC that contributes to the operational performance of the operating businesses within the holding company. FBGS also serves the Flagg Bicycle Group, LLC Board of Directors in work that sits at the intersection of governance and operations. Finally, FBGS offers limited support to other businesses and trusts associated with the Flagg-Henrickson legacy plan.

Position Overview

The FBG Services Controller is a key leadership role within FBGS. The Controller leads accounting, finance, and tax operations for the holding company and for operating businesses as defined in the FBGS charter (specific activities vary by operating business). Leadership responsibilities include participation in FBGS senior leadership and supervision of the FBGS accounting team.

This is a leadership role with defined hands‑on responsibilities. The Controller personally prepares or finalizes key Board, shareholder, and family‑office reporting and oversees team‑prepared work in other areas.

The Controller works closely with operating business leaders, external audit and tax advisers, Board committee leadership, and designated family‑office representatives. The Controller may also support acquisitions, dispositions, and post‑close integration as opportunities arise.

Accountability Levels

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting, Consolidation, and Board Reporting (≈35%)

  • Holding company and consolidation
    • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation process, including close calendars, account reconciliations, intercompany activity, eliminations, journal-entry controls, and timely delivery of accurate US GAAP financial statements.
    • Establish reporting standards, deadlines, and review procedures that produce consistent, useful reporting across participating businesses.
    • Provide financial oversight and analysis across the portfolio to support decisions by executive leadership and the Flagg Bicycle Group, LLC Board of Directors.
    • Prepare financial reports and analysis for shareholder reports and meetings.
  • Board and committee reporting
    • Serve as management liaison to the Flagg Bicycle Group, LLC Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee, subject to the Committee charter, and provide timely reporting on material accounting, tax, compliance, audit, liquidity, and internal‑control matters.
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen financial performance, reporting, controls, and risk management, and provide clear recommendations to executive leadership and the appropriate Board committee.
    • Promptly escalate material accounting, tax, compliance, control, liquidity, or financial‑reporting risks to the Executive Vice President and, when appropriate, to designated Board committee leadership.
  • Operating business support
    • Oversee timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for participating operating businesses. Not all businesses owned by the holding company use FBGS for their core accounting function.
    • Oversee general accounting and centralized payroll within the scope of the FBGS charter.
    • Partner with operating business leaders to promote consistent application of US GAAP and approved accounting policies while respecting defined governance, service scope, and accountability.

Accounting Policy and Internal Controls (≈15%)

  • Design, document, implement, and monitor an effective system of internal controls over financial reporting, including segregation of duties, approval authorities, financial policies, and remediation of identified control deficiencies.
  • Maintain accounting policies, process documentation, and records‑retention practices appropriate to the organization's size, risk profile, and multi‑entity structure.
  • Monitor compliance with delegated authorities and approval limits, and support fraud‑risk prevention and response processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality, access controls, and information boundaries among the holding company, operating businesses, real estate entities, trusts, shareholders, and other supported organizations.

Treasury and Cash Management (≈10%)

  • Oversee treasury and cash management within the approved scope of FBGS, including liquidity reporting, banking controls, debt and covenant reporting, intercompany funding, and coordination with financial institutions.
  • Establish controls for cash movement, payment approvals, bank‑account access, and authorized signers.
  • Coordinate short- and intermediate‑term cash forecasting and communicate material liquidity needs or constraints.

Tax, Audit, and Regulatory Compliance (≈15%)

  • Oversee the tax‑compliance calendar for the holding company, operating businesses, and other FBGS stakeholders, including limited international obligations.
  • Coordinate the income tax provision (ASC 740), return preparation, supporting schedules, estimated payments, extensions, and responses to tax notices.
  • Evaluate tax positions and planning opportunities with external advisers, including R&D tax credits, UNICAP, and other applicable matters; monitor material tax exposures and communicate significant risks and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Manage external audit and tax‑advisory relationships, including scope, deliverables, fees, performance, information requests, issue resolution, and implementation of recommendations.
  • Serve as the primary internal leader for annual financial‑statement audits, reviews, and other assurance engagements within the approved scope.
  • Oversee financial and compliance support for Flagg Bicycle Group, LLC benefit programs, including health and welfare, life insurance, and the 401(k) plan and its annual plan audit.

Team Leadership and Finance Systems (≈15%)

  • Team leadership
    • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high‑performing accounting team of 3–5 professionals within the approved organization structure.
    • Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations, development plans, succession coverage, and cross‑training for critical financial processes.
    • Manage external and outsourced accounting resources within the function's approved scope and budget.
  • Finance systems and process
    • Lead the selection, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of accounting systems, consolidation tools, payroll platforms, and financial‑reporting processes.
    • Improve accuracy, scalability, security, and appropriate automation while maintaining effective controls.
    • Establish data ownership, reconciliation, and reporting standards across financial systems.

Family Office Contributions (≈10%)

Performed in accordance with approved service agreements, governance documents, and confidentiality requirements (see Section 2).

  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Teaganco, LLC, and support reporting to its Board of Directors.
  • Monitor and report investment performance in coordination with designated family‑office leadership and external advisers.
  • Trust support
    • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting for designated trusts.
    • Escalate requests that fall outside the approved FBGS service scope to the Executive Vice President.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; a degree in Finance or Tax may be considered with substantial accounting experience.
  • CPA strongly preferred. A CMA or equivalent experience will be considered with demonstrated strength in technical accounting, external reporting, and audit leadership.
  • Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years leading a corporate accounting or controllership function.
  • Demonstrated experience leading monthly and annual close, multi‑entity consolidation, intercompany accounting, and US GAAP financial reporting for a holding company or similarly complex organization.
  • Experience designing and maintaining internal controls, accounting policies, approval authorities, and financial process documentation.
  • Experience leading external audits and coordinating complex tax‑compliance activities with outside advisers.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of at least three accounting professionals in a hybrid or distributed environment.
  • Strong executive, Board, and stakeholder communication skills, including the ability to translate technical matters into clear business implications.
  • Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential corporate, shareholder, employee, trust, and family financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a privately held holding company, family‑owned enterprise, family office, or shared‑services organization.
  • Experience supporting Boards of Directors, Board committees, advisory panels, or shareholder reporting.
  • Experience with income tax accounting (ASC 740) for C‑corporation entities.
  • Experience with multi‑entity consolidations across different accounting systems.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, purchase accounting, and post‑close integration.
  • Experience overseeing payroll, benefit‑plan compliance, treasury operations, investment accounting, or shared‑service cost allocations.
  • Experience improving finance technology, reporting automation, and accounting processes.
