Job summary

Aahealth in Annapolis, MD, is seeking a full-time County Contractual Coordinator for Behavioral Health Services. This role will coordinate the Fatal Overdose Review Team (FORT), oversee all functions, analyze CRISP and PDMP data, and develop reports to guide overdose prevention efforts.

Responsibilities include planning bi-monthly meetings, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with county and private partners to implement recommendations and improve substance use prevention programming.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, health care administration, behavioral health, social work, psychology or a related field
  • At least 2 years experience; or Master's degree in one of the fields listed above with one year related experience
  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle required
  • Preferred: needs assessments, strategic planning, public speaking and meeting facilitation; strong written and oral communication; ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with behavioral health, harm reduction strategies, and prevention activities is desirable

  • Collect and analyze data to improve substance use prevention programming within the system

Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Description

Nature of Work:

This position resides within the System Training Education and Prevention Program under the Behavioral Health Bureau. This position will coordinate the Fatal Overdose Review Team (FORT) and will be responsible for overseeing all functions pertaining to the team. The Fatal Overdose Review Team is composed of representatives from county and private agencies with the purpose of reviewing individual fatal and non-fatal overdoses to develop an understanding of causes and incidences of drug overdoses in the county and develop plans for and recommend changes to prevent drug overdose deaths.The Fatal Overdose Review Team Coordinator will review data from the Chesapeake Regional Information System (CRISP) and the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) to select cases for review. For each case selected, the CRISP data will be analyzed for bi-monthly meetings.

This position will schedule and plan all bi-monthly Fatal Overdose Review Team meetings and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to implement Fatal Overdose Review Team recommendations, including the Overdose Prevention team and subcommittees. This position will conduct research on recommendations made in the meetings, developing and maintaining a strategic plan for recommendation implementation and working with other community partners to implement selected recommendations. This position will complete all required reports to the Maryland Overdose Fatality Review office, develop meeting minutes and develop presentations or secure presenters as needed. This position will also be responsible for collecting, interpreting and analyzing data to improve substance use prevention programming to support the Fatal Overdose Review Team and the System Training Education and Prevention program.

Success in this role requires a strong background in Behavioral Health (substance use/primary prevention and harm reduction strategies), meeting facilitation, grant management, program evaluation, and an ability to maintain strict confidentiality while leading a multidisciplinary team.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in public administration, health care administration, behavioral health, social work, psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

At least 2 years experience of related professional work experience; OR Master's degree in one of the fields listed above; and one year of related experience.

Notes:

This position requires a valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with needs assessments, strategic planning, public speaking and meeting facilitation; Understanding of complex public health related issues; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to accomplish objectives.
