Job summary

Fortress Information Security is seeking a FastLane Product Associate in a remote-friendly setup with Orlando as a base. This early-career role is part of Fortress's Product team, offering ownership of product projects from discovery to delivery alongside PMs, engineers, and customers.

• Familiarity with AI tools for research, writing, analysis, and prototyping per policy.

Responsibilities

• Own defined product projects from research through delivery with guidance from product managers.
• Research customer workflows, regulatory requirements (e.g., NERC CIP, DoD frameworks), and competitors.
• Draft user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
• Analyze product usage, customer feedback, and data to identify problems and opportunities.
• Build prototypes or automations using approved AI/low-code tools to test ideas quickly.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, and roadmap discussions.
• Prepare clear written and presented summaries for product leadership and partners.
• Support customer-facing activities such as demos, discovery calls, and pilots.
• Other duties as assigned.

The FastLane Product Associate is an early-career role within Fortress's Product team, designed to give high-potential candidates direct ownership of meaningful product projects from research through delivery. This role is ideal for candidates at the start of their professional careers who are eager to build hands-on product experience. Working alongside product managers, engineers, and customers, the associate will engage with complex challenges in supply chain security, vulnerability management, and compliance for high-stakes clients including energy utilities and federal defense organizations. This role offers hands-on exposure to the full product lifecycle, from customer discovery and requirements writing to sprint ceremonies and roadmap discussions, in a domain that directly supports critical infrastructure and national security. This is a 12-month, full-time temporary role. FastLane is intentionally structured as a pipeline to permanent employment, and associates who demonstrate strong performance may be considered for conversion to a permanent position at the end of the term. This makes it a compelling opportunity for candidates seeking a fast-traced path into a product career at a growing cybersecurity company.

Minimum Qualifications

• 0-1 year of professional experience in product, software, data, or a related field (internships, co-ops, and academic projects count).
• Comfortable using AI tools for research, writing, analysis, and prototyping, and able to judge output quality and use approved tools responsibly per Fortress policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, domains, and workflows quickly.

Preferred Skills

• Coursework or experience in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, or a related field.
• Prior internship, project, or leadership experience involving product, software, or data work.
• Interest in cybersecurity, national security, or critical infrastructure protection.
• Familiarity with agile development, Jira, or similar tools.
• Basic data analysis skills (Excel, SQL, Python, or BI tools).
