Description
The Relief Store Manager is responsible for acting as the store manager as needed to cover PTO and other absences. They establish and maintain customer service standards, oversee store operations, and ensure maximum sales and profitability through merchandise management, inventory control, expense management, human resources, and operating costs. Additionally, they support the Store Manager in daily procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide manager coverage at any FastLane Convenience Store on an as-needed basis.
- Work at multiple FastLane locations as required.
- Perform functions of all convenience store positions to support the Store Manager (cashier, deli, assistant manager, etc.).
- Ensure appropriate merchandise levels, presentation, signage, and assortment in all departments; maintain an adequately stocked selling floor.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through management meetings, store walk-throughs, and audits.
- Maintain a proper product mix to promote sales growth.
- Achieve and maintain a store inspection grade of at least 85% on the store image evaluation.
- Comply with all city, county, and state liquor regulations.
- Accurately record sales, invoices, markups, markdowns, merchandise usage, voids, and write-offs within guidelines.
- Prepare and deliver daily bank deposits promptly.
- Train and develop store management and staff in all aspects of the business.
- Adapt to changing work environments and personnel.
- Project a positive image of the company and store at all times.
- Compare prices, report results, and adjust pricing accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve goals.
- Analyze business trends and develop plans to maximize sales and meet goals.
- Evaluate performance issues and actively recruit management candidates.
- Follow all company policies and ensure staff compliance.
- Schedule shifts, assign workers, and ensure coverage.
- Prepare daily shift reports and input data into the system.
- Control shrinkage, expenses, and payroll.
- Review trends and implement changes to meet objectives.
- Report cash over/shortages exceeding $35 immediately to the Area Manager.
- Ensure proper sale and accounting of money orders.
- Provide outstanding guest service, including greeting, product knowledge, and maintaining high standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
