Fastenal Cold Heading Machinist

Location: 61 Barnes Industrial Park North, Wallingford, CT 06492
CT180 Manufacturing Facility

Full-time Shift(s):

1. Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
2. Monday to Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Overview:

As a Full-time Fastenal Cold Heading Machinist, you will set up and operate cold heading or threading equipment. Operating these machines will depend on your experience. This position may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate cold heading or threading equipment
• Inspect parts and verify dimensions
• Maintain scheduled delivery
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Maintain tools and machine aspects from setup to operation

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of cold heading and/or threading equipment
• Understanding of quality tooling for these machines
• Strong math skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to lift and move packages weighing 25-50 lbs, up to 100 lbs
• Pass drug screening (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of ISO quality systems
• Experience reading blueprints
• Knowledge of inspection practices and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, ring gages, and protrusion gages
