Job summary

Oakes Auto Group is seeking a Used Car Technician in Olathe, KS to inspect, service, and recon vehicles to frontline-ready status. The role focuses on inspections, light repairs, and recon work to keep inventory turning, with a culture centered on growth and long-term career development.

The position requires 2+ years of automotive technician experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years automotive technician experience
• Inspections, basic diagnostics and light mechanical work
• Own basic set of tools
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Pass a standard background check
• Reliable with good attendance

Responsibilities

• Perform full used car inspections (UCI) including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and drivability
• Complete basic maintenance such as oil changes, fluids, filters, batteries, brakes and tires
• Handle light mechanical and recon repairs to prepare vehicles quickly and correctly
• Document findings, log hours accurately, communicate with advisors/managers on needed repairs
• Ensure vehicles are frontline-ready, including final road tests and quality checks
