General Function

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Operates cash register accurately, scans products, and ensures store cleanliness, product quality, and adequate supply levels.

Reporting Relations

Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Department Managers

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Exhibits caring, concern, and patience in customer interactions, making efforts to learn and address customers by name.
• Assists customers with product location, heavy items, and passing along suggestions or requests.
• Operates cash register, processes transactions, and handles promotional coupons and payments.
• Maintains store cleanliness, stocks shelves, manages inventory, and ensures proper sanitation.
• Performs outdoor maintenance like snow shoveling and ice spreading.
• Replenishes supplies and ensures the work area is neat and compliant with hygiene standards.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

• Orders merchandise and supplies as needed.
• Prices products and performs other related tasks.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Basic arithmetic skills involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, mail, and provide basic guidance.

Education and Experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Visual acuity from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction.
• Physical activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

Exposure to temperature extremes, dampness, equipment hazards, electrical shocks, and chemicals in a fast-paced environment.
