General Function

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Operates cash register accurately, scans products, maintains store cleanliness, ensures product quality and quantity, and supports store and pump supplies.

Reporting Relations

Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Department Managers. No positions report to you.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides friendly customer service, exhibits caring and patience, and addresses customers by name when possible.
• Assists customers with product location, heavy items, and customer suggestions to enhance shopping experience.
• Operates cash register, processes transactions, redeems coupons, and handles payments.
• Prepares and stocks merchandise, maintains cleanliness, and ensures safety procedures.

Secondary Duties

• Orders merchandise and supplies, prices products, and performs other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Basic arithmetic skills involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Education and Experience

No formal education or experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
• Visual and physical activities as listed, including climbing, stooping, reaching, standing, and lifting.

Working Conditions

Exposed to temperature extremes, dampness, equipment hazards, and cleaning chemicals. Fast-paced environment.

Telephone, fax, copier, pallet jacks, garbage disposal, cash register, gas pumps, etc.
