Job Title: Fast and Fresh Clerk

Department: Fast and Fresh

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Operates cash register accurately, scans product, and maintains store cleanliness, product quality, and supply needs.

Reporting Relations

Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Department Managers. No positions report to you.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service, greet customers, and assist with their needs.
• Operate cash register, handle transactions, and redeem coupons or payments.
• Assist with stocking, inventory, and store maintenance tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas.
• Follow company policies regarding dress, hygiene, and safety.

Secondary Duties

• Order merchandise and supplies as needed.
• Price products and perform other related duties.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to file, copy, and guide people as needed.

Education and Experience

No formal education or experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Visual and physical activities include climbing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting.

Working Conditions

Exposure to temperature extremes, dampness, equipment hazards, and chemicals. Fast-paced environment.

Equipment Used

Telephone, copier, cash register, gas pumps, and other store equipment.

Contacts

Daily contact with customers, co-workers, vendors, and the public.

The starting hourly wage is $15.00 to $18.75 depending on experience.
