About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements

InStyle is looking for a skilled fashion writer to produce thoughtful, engaging fashion content across the brand's platforms. The role involves pitching and writing fashion and celebrity style news, as well as trending stories, with a focus on creating content that drives traffic and engagement. The editor will report to the Fashion Director and collaborate with the News Director and audience teams to expand reach and meet audience needs. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fashion trends and brands, a passion for celebrity style, and an interest in data to enhance content creation.

This position is based in New York and requires working three days per week in the New York office.

About The Position's Contributions:

Weight % - Accountabilities, Actions, and Expected Measurable Results

85% - Pitch, write, and produce engaging fashion news and trending stories.

10% - Manage fashion franchises across platforms including on-site, social media, and video.

5% - Support the fashion team by attending market appointments, fashion shows, and fashion month events.

The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Experience:

At least 3 years of experience in the fashion industry and fashion news writing.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications, and Abilities:

• Quick, accurate news-writing skills.

• Knowledge of the fashion industry.

• Strong understanding of SEO and growth-optimization best practices.

• Ability to identify trends and create relatable, engaging, service-driven content for platforms like Google Discover, Apple News, Instagram, TikTok, and email newsletters.

• Ability to analyze real-time and long-term analytics.

• Skill in translating trends into compelling content.

Pay Range
