We are a growing U.S.-based brand blending trend-driven design with premium quality and a deep understanding of what real women want. As we expand globally, we’re looking for a part-time, Guangzhou-based Fashion Designer & Sourcing Specialist to bring our next collections to life.

The Role

We are seeking a creative, resourceful, and production-savvy designer who can blend design talent with sourcing expertise. You’ll conceptualize on-brand designs for SSYS the Label, source fabrics and trims, and coordinate with factories in China to ensure efficient, high-quality production.

This is a part-time remote position with flexibility, but requires strong sourcing relationships in Guangzhou and the ability to work independently while aligning with our U.S. headquarters.

• Research seasonal trends and develop design concepts aligned with the SSYS aesthetic.
• Present design sketches or CADs (minimum 5–10 per season) for approval.
• Source fabrics, trims, and materials from reputable Guangzhou markets and suppliers.
• Identify and liaise with factories for sampling and production—optimize for quality, cost, and timelines.
• Oversee sampling process, including fit and quality assessments.
• Ensure effective communication with SSYS headquarters regarding timelines, designs, and vendor updates.
• Recommend innovative materials, suppliers, and manufacturers to improve quality and pricing.
• Manage basic production tracking and problem-solving with factories.
• 3+ years experience in fashion design AND sourcing/production.
• Strong portfolio of women’s fashion designs (contemporary or casual/lifestyle preferred).
• Existing relationships with fabric suppliers and factories in the Guangzhou region.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or other design software.
• Solid understanding of garment construction, materials, and quality control.
• Excellent English communication skills; Mandarin/Cantonese a plus.
• Proactive, organized, and deadline-driven.
