Job summary

Country View Family Farms in Indiana is seeking a Farrowing Lead to supervise the farrowing barn operations, ensuring care and welfare of sows and piglets. This hands-on leadership role trains and guides the team, monitors barn systems, and maintains records; the position offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Livestock Production, or 5+ years of related experience.
• Proven leadership and team coaching abilities in a livestock setting.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Train, lead, and motivate the farrowing team.
• Oversee sow farrowing and piglet care from birth to weaning.
• Monitor barn systems: ventilation, feeding, and watering.
• Manage Day 1 care, treatments, vaccinations, and piglet processing.
• Maintain records including wean data and Pig Knows reporting.
• Uphold safety, cleanliness, and animal welfare standards.
