Job summary

H2ajobs in Bartlett, Nebraska is seeking a cattle handler to perform seasonal ranch duties throughout the year. You will move cattle, assist with calving prep, feeding, disease observation, and basic herd management in a demanding outdoor environment.

We provide employer housing and meals, plus weekly town transport. A valid driver’s license within 30 days of hire is required and English is essential; prior livestock experience preferred but not mandatory.

Job description

Perform duties like: Moving cattle home to their winter pastures. Fall cattle work/pregnancy checking. Weaning. Feeding cattle. Working and vaccinating cattle. Maintaining feed equipment. Inspect livestock for illness/injury. Maintaining winter grazing fences. Hauling water to heifers. Prepping ranch barns and grounds for freeze. Opening frozen water tanks. Snow removal. Shipping calves to market. Moving cattle to calving pastures. Prep barns and cattle for calving. Cleaning barns. Branding cattle. Moving cattle to summer pastures at the end of the season. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies. Farming with: Beef Cattle. No CDL Required and no commercial truck driving required.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services).

Transport: The employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and provide reimbursement upon arrival at the farm for all inbound and outbound transportation at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distance involved. This may include plane, train, bus, or automobile.
