Job summary

H2ajobs is hiring for farm labor in Florida. Workers will plant, cultivate and harvest peppers, zucchini, beans, watermelon, rice and greens, using hand tools and basic equipment. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in extreme heat or cold, and follow simple supervisor instructions.

Housing and meals are provided under the program, with transportation arranged as needed. Experience not required beyond 2 months; tasks include cleaning, sorting, packing and loading harvested

Responsibilities

• Plant, cultivate and harvest bell peppers, specialty peppers, zucchini, squash and eggplant, green beans, watermelon, sugar cane, rice, lettuce and herbs.
• Clean, grade, sort, pack and load harvested products.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, pruning hooks, shears and knives.
• Haul produce and farm materials including mill mud; follow safety and supervisor instructions.

Plant, cultivate and harvest bell pepper & specialty pepper, zucchini, squash & eggplant, green beans, watermelon, sugar cane, rice, lettuce, Asian leafy vegetables & leafy vegetables, herbs, radishes, celery, sweet corn. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears and knives. Land preparation, minor maintenance, crop maintenance, miscellaneous clean up, hoeing, tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning and or pruning, hauling produce or any other farm related material including mill mud. Cleaning, grading, sorting, packing and loading harvested products. Must be able to reach, stand, stoop, bend and lift items weighing 50 pounds to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday. Must be able to work outdoors in wet, dusty and dirty conditions, in extreme heat and cold inclement weather. Must be able to listen to, understand and follow simple instructions of supervisors and dispatcher. Must be able to work in fields where ants, snakes and poison ivy are encountered. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic devices during working hours is strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Per 655.122(g), the employer will provide three (3)meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and will charge the workers up to $16.78 per day, for the workers residing in the housing facility, subject to change with the publication of new rates by the Office of Foreign Labor Certification in the Federal Register. The employer will provide free transportation once per week to and from the laundry facility and store to obtain other necessities.
