Position: (Farming Operator) North America Operations Specialist II – North America Field Testing and Pipeline Delivery, Pullman, Washington

Help drive operational efficiency across North America Field Testing by capturing data insights, expanding your network, operating advanced technology, and fostering innovation. The primary responsibilities include:

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Execute field research trials through partnerships, machine operation, phenotyping, training, and data collection to deliver field data insights.
  2. Operate and maintain research equipment, ensuring high-quality data collection using innovative technology.
  3. Travel approximately 75% across North America to operate equipment in crops like corn, soybean, canola, wheat, and cotton.
  4. Work effectively in agile environments, communicate across teams, and proactively solve problems.
  5. Ensure safety and efficiency aligned with SSHE, stewardship, and ethical standards; leverage digital platforms for data collection and analysis.
  6. Collaborate with diverse teams and establish community partnerships.
  7. Provide training on field research equipment and develop supporting documentation.
  8. Drive over 15,000 business miles annually in a company vehicle.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks candidates with the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with equipment operation in agriculture, research, or related fields.
  • Agile, adaptable, committed to safety and quality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Willing to travel up to 75% across North America, with necessary documentation.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, cross-cultural teams.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures, extended shifts, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
  • Comfort working indoors and outdoors, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a medium/heavy vehicle license (>10,000 lbs.) and necessary regional licenses.
  • Ability to obtain a Pesticide Applicator’s License and FAA Part 107 UAV certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including academic or industrial.
  • Experience with precision agriculture hardware/software and process improvements.
  • Experience in agricultural research, seed technology, or plant breeding, including training creation and leadership.
  • Knowledge of regional crop practices and trends.

Salary ranges from $58,498.40 to $87,747.60, with potential bonuses and benefits such as health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, and sick leave. Compensation varies based on skills, experience, degrees, certifications, and market data.

This role is based in Pullman, Washington. Visa sponsorship is not available.
