Job description

SUMMARY - The Farmer's Market Auxiliary will work with the Sustainability Manager and other auxiliary staff to support the 2025 Market Season. This position requires on-site hours during market operation times, which are every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., May through October. The role involves supporting market activities and establishing effective relationships with vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Greet vendors, assist with setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, and displays.
  2. Coordinate with vendors on specials to promote via social media.
  3. Recruit new vendors to diversify product offerings.
  4. Promote the market through social media, e-newsletters, and community outreach.
  5. Manage the city's welcome booth, provide customer information, and operate the EBT/Credit Card machine.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Background: Must be a U.S. citizen with no felony or serious crime convictions. Must pass a background check including criminal history, education, certifications, credit, and drug testing.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in operating computers and tablets, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to learn other software such as Canva and city-specific programs. Must type at least 40 words per minute and produce departmental formatted work.
