Job summary

Morris Enterprises, Inc. is seeking workers for planting, transplanting, and cultivating sweet onions by hand. You will throw onion plants onto beds, place sprouts into pre-dug holes, and cover with dirt as directed.

This is outdoor, physically demanding labor performed in varying weather conditions. Employer-provided housing with shared kitchen facilities is included, along with weekly transportation to nearby towns for errands.

Qualifications

• Experience performing farm labor or similar manual tasks; 1 month preferred.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plant, transplant, and cultivate sweet onions by hand.
• Throw onion plants onto beds and place sprouts into pre-dug holes, then cover with dirt.
• Follow Addendum C terms and maintain cleanliness and safety during operations.

Job description

Plant, transplant, and cultivate sweet onions by hand. Throw onion plants onto beds. Workers will then put sprout into pre-dug hole and bend down cover with dirt. Continued on Addendum C.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer does not provide meals. Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, Morris Enterprises, Inc. (fixed-site entity) also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Transport: Employer pays/reimburses foreign workers for all visa-related costs (excluding passport fees) in the first workweek. For non-commuting workers, employer pays/reimburses reasonable travel costs (transportation, daily subsistence, and lodging if applicable) from the place worker departed to the employer's place of employment.
