Location: Primarily Remote (with monthly on-site days in Hastings, MI)

Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

About the Role:

This position assists members of the Farm Underwriting team in placing insurance risks that meet Hastings Insurance's underwriting guidelines. You’ll help manage daily departmental workflows, contribute to strong agent communication, and support the effective processing of policy activity. Your efforts directly support our ability to serve agricultural clients with precision and responsiveness.

What You’ll Do:

• Support the Farm Underwriting team by organizing daily workflows and handling service requests.
• Request underwriting reports and documentation using internal systems.
• Communicate directly with agents to respond to inquiries and provide support.
• Process policy changes within delegated authority and prepare transactions requiring escalation.
• Maintain working knowledge of Hastings Insurance farm products, pricing, and coverages across all operating states.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment, supporting shared goals for assigned territories.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education or self-study.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Additional Role Highlights:

• This role works closely with both internal underwriting partners and external agents, providing a critical link in policy servicing.
• Based at our Home Office in Hastings, Michigan, this role may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
• Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

• Completion of the INS series or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC skills.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support a shared workflow.
